Hélène Garcia: Let’s Drink a Dozen Roses
Transformer’s 5th Annual Storefront Exhibition
November 7 - 29, 2015

Transformer is pleased to present Let’s Drink a Dozen Roses, a site-specific storefront installation by Parisian artist, Hélène Garcia. An independent artist and curator, Garcia serves as Project Manager at Glassbox (Paris, France), a peer non-profit visual art space to Transformer, and is the co-founder and co-director of Manuel Publication- a contemporary art platform created to support emerging artists by means of publication, residencies, and exhibitions across Europe.

The 5th Annual Storefront Exhibition, Let’s Drink a Dozen Roses, uses paper and printed images to create a set of volumes and textures that directly respond to the environment of the window space while echoing the function and nature of storefront windows for display and public engagement.

By presenting recurring forms in the landscape area of the storefront, Garcia plays with scale, volume and movement while examining the function of the window space – enticing viewers to take a second look and beckoning curious onlookers to approach the installation as it penetrates the space.

Hélène Garcia (b. 1987) studied in Central Saint Martins School in London, and l’Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris, her work has been shown in France, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Canada and China.

EXHIBITION HOURS: This storefront installation will be on view November 7 – November 29, 2015.
