GET INVOLVED WITH TRANSFORMER

Throughout the year, Transformer offers numerous opportunities to partcipate & support our vision of highlighting what's now and next in contemporary art for artists and audiences.

ANNUAL EVENTS INCLUDE:

Annual Silent Auction & Benefit Party

Transformer's primary fundraising event, the Auction is an extension of our non-profit organization's overall cutting-edge aesthetic. Regarded as the fall's 'not to be missed' art event, Transformer's Auction provides essential support for our year-round dynamic exhibitions and innovative educational programming. And is a really great party!

Collector's View Series

Sharing the private collections of a select and diverse group of DC's leading contemporary art collectors through a series of special receptions, Transformer's annual spring Collector's View series highlights the relationship collectors have with artists, the role they play in building artists' careers, as well as their impact in creating healthy arts communities – while providing tremendous support for Transformer's exhibitions and programs.

Emerging Collectors Circle

A membership group for young professionals, ages 21- 40, interested in exploring and engaging our dynamic, emerging artist community. Participants in this select group have the opportunity to connect with contemporary emerging artists at an intimate level and build relationships with fellow Emerging Collectors Circle members, artists, curators and collectors in the Transformer network.

Heartbreaker's Ball

An annual party celebrating our love of the emerging artist community and debuting new works from Transformer's FlatFile! Focused on supporting emerging DMV-based artists, Transformer's evolving FlatFile collection features more than 200 original works for sale.

IN ADDITION TO OUR ONGOING DYNAMIC EXHIBITIONS & PROGRAMMING:

Exhibitions, six to seven per season organized by Transformer staff in conjunction with participating artists, guest curators, and advisors in our unique store-front exhibition space.
Siren Arts, an innovative summer residency & exhibition program based in Asbury Park, NJ that supports emerging visual artists throughout the northeast corridor of Washington, DC to NYC.
Exercises for Emerging Artists, a peer critique and mentorship program with an intensive series of meetings at Transformer for selected participating artists to meet, discuss a new body of work, and have that body of work presented at Transformer.
FlatFile, consists of works in a variety of two-dimensional mediums including photography, painting, drawing and printmaking approximately 16x20" in size and smaller and priced under $500.
Framework Panels, engaging artists, arts professionals, cultural leaders, and audiences in conversation to create an oral 'field guide' to encourage and support individual emerging artists in our community, and educate audiences through the sharing of best practices within the contemporary visual arts.
Temporal Projects, collaborations with artists, curators, educators, arts professionals, other art spaces and cultural institutions in the development and presentation of exhibitions and programs.
